Uniform

Our school has a duty to make sure that the uniform we require is affordable, in line with statutory guidance from the Department for Education on the cost of school uniform.

General

  • Purple school sweatshirt or cardigan – available from Taylormade uniforms
  • White shirt with collar (polo style) – available from high street shops
  • Black or dark grey tailored school trousers – available from the high street
  • Black or dark grey knee length school skirt – available from the high street

In warmer weather children may wear:

  • Black or dark grey knee length tailored shorts – available from the high street
  • Purple / white checked summer dresses (knee length) – available from high street shops

Footwear

  • Socks / tights: black, dark grey or white – available from the high street
  • Plain black low heeled footwear (including trainers without motifs) - these must be sensible for school and playground wear i.e. not open toed or without backs

PE kit (all available from the high street)

  • Footwear (trainers or plimsolls)
  • Plain white T-shirt(no logos)
  • Shorts – black / grey (no logos)
  • During cold weather we ask children to wear old jogging bottoms and sweatshirts when doing PE outside
  • Children use their own swimming costumes
  • Kits for competitive sporting events are provided

Other items

  • School Book bag – these are given to our new Reception children
  • Water bottle – children have free access to these throughout the day

Jewellery and other items

  • Jewellery is not to be worn for safety reasons
  • Only small stud earrings are acceptable and these must be removed before PE lessons. It may be advisable for your child to leave earrings at home on these days. We cannot accept any responsibility for lost jewellery
  • Parents are strongly advised to only allow ears to be pierced at the beginning of the summer holiday so that children do not miss out on PE and swimming. Families will be advised when children are timetabled for PE and swimming.
  • Nail varnish is not to be worn (including fake gel nails).
  • Long hair must be tied back. Hair accessories should be kept to a minimum and should be purple or neutral.
  • Hair styles / colour should not be extreme i.e. hair should be its natural colour (not dyed), haircuts should not include shaved patterns and logos
  • We are happy for children to wear watches to school but we cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage. SMART watches should not be worn.
